Bill Makes it Illegal to Grow, Share, or Sell Your Own Food – But Mostly a General Rant 08/19/2010

The sheer arrogance and greed of the US federal government continues to shock and astound me and, I’m not hesitant to admit, anger me greatly.

Even the imperial British government did not withhold as many rights, take as much hard-earned money, or spy so intently upon the citizens of the colonies.

We broke off from the British Empire because we were not given the full rights as citizens.  We now have far fewer freedoms, far less independence, and we pay far too high a cost, all for supposed “security.”  Look at our borders.  Look at how not even the states themselves are being permitted to protect themselves.

Look at how you can’t properly protect yourself.  Look how you don’t really own your own property, nor even the money that you work hard to earn.

Nor even that backyard garden, apparently:

Is this what we wanted?  Where is our freedom?

On July 4th, 1776, America’s Founding Fathers approved the Declaration of Independence. This was a valiant step away from tyranny and towards liberty and freedom.

Today, I am celebrating the beginnings of America by going to one of many Tea Parties across the country. I encourage everyone to attend one of these events to celebrate – and to show that you want our freedom and independence back, just like our Founding Fathers.

Census Workers Empowered Under Federal Law to Demand Access to Any Home that is Rented Out 05/28/2010

Census workers – all, down to the lowest and newest employee – have the power under federal law to demand access to any home – apartment or otherwise – that is rented out, even when the people who live there are not at home. If the landlord refuses to grant the worker access to the home, the landlord can be fined $500.

Apparently, it is not enough to fine Americans for failing to answer extremely personal, intrusive questions, but now landlords must give census workers full access to your rented home.

Isn’t it wonderful to think that some random, temporary census worker could be snooping in your apartment while you are out shopping for groceries – snooping through your belongings in a supposed attempt to discover statistical information about you for the government?

Welcome to America, the land of the free.


Victory – American Army Veteran Allowed to Keep Flag on Display 05/28/2010

As more and more people across the nation joined in protesting the threat of eviction for displaying the American flag, American Army Veteran Charlie Price of Oshkosh, Wisconsin and officials at Midwest Realty Management struck an agreement that allows the veteran to continue displaying the American flag.

An Army veteran in Wisconsin will be allowed to display an American flag until Memorial Day, but the symbol honoring his service in Iraq and Kosovo must come down next Tuesday, his wife told FoxNews.com.

Dawn Price, 27, of Oshkosh, Wis., said she received a call from officials at Midwest Realty Management early Wednesday indicating that she and her husband, Charlie, would be allowed to continue flying the American flag they’ve had in their window for months through the holiday weekend. The couple had previously been told they had to remove the flag by Saturday or face eviction due to a company policy that bans the display of flags, banners and political or religious materials.

“It’s basically an extension so we can fly the flag on Memorial Day,” Price told FoxNews.com. “It does need to come down after that.”

Charlie Price, 28, served tours of duty as a combat engineer in Iraq and Kosovo, his wife said. To honor his eight years of service, she began decorating their apartment during Veterans Day in November. An American flag topped off the display, she said.

“I knew it made Charlie really proud to see that,” she said. “And this isn’t something new. This has been up for quite some time now.”

Veterans’ groups were furious at the realtors’ refusal to allow the flag to fly.

“As a veteran, it sickens me that the Dawn and Charlie Price’s building management company would imply that the American flag could be construed as offensive by their residents,” said Ryan Gallucci, a spokesman for AmVets.

“We’re talking about our most revered national symbol. This is insulting to anyone who has defended our flag honorably, like Charlie Price.”

This greatly disappoints me. How could a veteran displaying the American flag be offensive or harmful to others in the American community? Apparently risking your life overseas and wishing to show patriotism for the country which you served is suddenly offensive.

It is an American flag. You know, the Stars and Stripes? Being displayed in the home of a veteran of the Iraq war, honoring his country and his service to said country? What is America coming too?

Headline after headline continues to shock, disappoint, and confound me in this strange age of America.



Even the Russians Knew… 01/05/2010

In an opinion article on the Russian news site Pravda, the author blatantly laid out the process taking place in America, where capitalism and freedom are/were being replaced by Marxism and socialism. This was posted in April, 2009, just three months after Obama’s inauguration.

The Russians knew that America was doomed even before Obama’s election – how did we not?

Eight years ago today, America was attacked. Thousands of lives were lost and countless lives were affected when the World Trade Center and the Pentagon were attacked, and when Flight 93 was hijacked and crashed.

I don’t think that I, personally, will ever forget that day. I remember the time I found out, the first time I saw the videos of the crashes and the collapses of the towers on the news, and the horror I felt at the evil I saw.

On September 10th, 2001, I was innocent.

On September 11th, 2001, I was not.

9/11 shook my beliefs. How could such evil exist as to slaughter innocent civilians? How could such hatred for the American way exist?

I believed that no one could forget that day. Yet many people around me seem perfectly happy to let today pass unmarked. However, I cannot do such.

The August recess has arrived and the members of Congress are facing their constituents. Now these men and women are realizing how strongly the American people feel about what they have been doing.

The Cap and Trade Bill, the Health Care Bill – the people are opposed to them, yet our Congress is still strongly considering passing them. Why? To quote some protestors at townhall meetings, “You work for us!” So what gives them the right to do what the American people don’t want? What gives them the right to trample on our Constitution?

We live in what is supposed to be a Republic. You may believe that our Founding Fathers (or Founders, since “Founding Fathers” is now considered incorrect) meant to create a democracy. But this is not true. It is what you are taught in school, yes, and it is what you are told throughout your life – but the Founding Fathers created a Republic, where people voted for Representatives to voice their opinion, not to take away their rights and freedoms.

Want proof? “I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it stands, one nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and Justice for all.”

More than that: Article IV, Sec. 4 of the Constitution states that, “The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government.”

So, I ask again: What gives them, the government, the right to do what the people do not want? What gives the government the right to break our country’s laws by ignoring the Constitution and taking away our freedom and liberty?

We gave them the right. We did not intend this when we elected them, but, unfortunately, we stood idly by for too long and let the government take more and more control over our lives. And now we are faced with losing the rest of our freedoms.

This must change! This will change!

I sound sure of this, don’t I? That is because I am.

Those who disagree with the government are being kept out of townhall meetings. The government is taking away more of what we are allowed to do with each passed bill. The government is turning into Big Brother, watching and restricting more and more of what we do. Protestors are being arrested (remember that we have the right to protest).

So I ask of you – are you going to stand for this? Are you going to allow our government to become a tyranny? And another question – do you really think that the American people, as a whole, will stand for this? America was created because of much less serious infractions upon the liberties of the people than what the government is doing right now.

I point you to the Declaration of Independence (italics, bold mine).

“We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.–That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, –That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness…But when a long train of abuses and usurpations, pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.

It is not only the right of the people, but our duty to get rid of any government that becomes destructive of our rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.

And so, the American people will not stand for this much longer. We have petitioned, we have peacefully protested, and our voices have been ignored.

Hear my voice, America! Hear the voices of all who desire freedom! Revolution is coming. And since the government is blocking and ignoring all attempts at peaceful revolution, there is no logical nor possible course of action besides that of a true revolution reminiscent of the one that created this country.
